Fiesta Mexicana!

Fall must be the time to celebrate in Japan, because there have been loads of festivals lately.  The first was a Mexican Festival in Odaiba.  One of the things that I've missed the most here is the lack of truly ethnic foods.  In the States, there are all different types of restaurants with somewhat authentic food.  Here, there are all types of restaurants, but they leave a lot to be desired.  Needless to say, I was thrilled to head to Tokyo for some fabulous food.  Here we are on the sky train heading across Tokyo Bay to Odaiba Island.
The views from the train were phenomenal!  Here is a view of Tokyo from the rails.
I was amazed by this tall, thin building...it blended into the sky like camouflage.
This is the Fuji TV building which is located right in the middle of the island.  I found out that people can tour it and go up in the ball.  I'll have to save that tour for another day.
I was taken by the beauty of these flowers.  If I hadn't been so far from home, I would have bought some for my table.
 These were awesome too!
I love that the Japanese take culture so seriously.  It's interesting to see Japanese dress and dance so accurately.
...waiting for their turns to perform.
The greatest part of the entertainment was when these kiddos came on stage.  They performed to Michael Jackson's Thriller...not so Mexican.  Their costumes were fabulous, but their moves were even better...I loved it!
Here I am with the cutest lobster this side of the border.
Authentic Mexican food in Japan...of course, I had to use chopsticks...really, there was no other option. Let's just say that things got a little messy.
On the island, there's a miniature Statue of Liberty.  I'm not really sure why it's here, but I had to get a picture with it.  In the background, there's the Rainbow Bridge.  It's pretty awesome at night because it lights up with all different colors.
There were some pretty unusual and awesome buildings near the festival.  I just had to get pictures of a few.
 Another great building.
 And another.
And yet another.  Someday, I will figure out what each one actually is, but until then, I'm just going to admire them.  It was a beautiful day, with beautiful scenery.  I had a great time at the festival, hanging out with friends.  We ate and drank and had a fabulous time!  However, this wasn't our final stop.  We had a multicultural day planned, so we left here and headed to another festival...this time, Indian.
